Commissions

I really enjoy working with a client to develop a piece of jewellery or silverware that will mean something special to both the giver and receiver of the item. Recent commissions

Capturing an occasion or a memory
Over the years, I have made wedding presents, christening presents, 18th and 21st birthday gifts, silver, ruby and golden wedding anniversary presents - though not necessarily in that order! I try to make sure the work is hallmarked in the year of the anniversary, ie the current year.

If you have an occasion or memory that you would like marked by a commissioned article, please browse examples of my work and then contact me to discuss how we might crystallise your requirements. Examples where a memory is captured. I can work to a supplied design, but I think the best results come from an interaction with my customer such that I interpret their requirement, rather than implementing their drawings. I don't work to engineering accuracy, so I don't offer precise dimensions, nor completely accurate shapes, but the result will look pleasing to the eye

I like to develop designs incorporating stones or other materials provided, but I cannot accept any responsibility should they break or be damaged while I am working with them. More details

Limited editions
Other commissions may be a limited run themed set of jewellery to celebrate an event, building or organisation. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

The Great Nut Hunt
a special commission for the People’s Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) to produce 20 silver and one gold-plated nut for its Great Nut Hunt to determine the distribution and numbers of the rare hazel dormouse. BBC2's Autumnwatch programme gave details of the Hunt and the presenters (Kate Humble and Chris Packham) held up the 'golden' nut and one of the silver nuts to show viewers.

Labyrinth setjewellery and bookmarks with a copy of the labyrinth design created in the floor of St Michael & All Angels Church, Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Use of your materials

Prices
It is difficult to give prices for commissions, but I charge for my time in design and implementation, the materials and metal cost (which is regrettably shooting up), assay costs and delivery. So, if you can collect and it is something simple like different initials on a set of silver cufflinks then it could be from £45.

Notice needed
To allow time for design, fabrication and hallmarking, I need at least a month's notice to meet a specific date.
